This last month we drove about 5000km from Whitehorse to Bullhead City with the Schmid boys. In this time we have been overwhelmed with impressions, seen magnificent landscapes and met some nice people on our way. We camped almost every night, because the weather was so good, staying in motels and hostels only in the big cities. We got quite a routine in this nomadic lifestyle of setting up and breaking down camp every day. Lea managed to keep us healthy and we where impressed by her skills to cook the most amazing meals on a simple single gas cooker. We also tried our selves on backing bread over a fire.
The trip took us down the famous Alaska Highway to Jasper and Banff National Park where we went hiking and saw some magnificent glaciers and lakes.

Spending the next few days in cities we passed threw Seattle where we visited the food market and listened to Jazz music and stoped in Portland to have a meal at the famous food carts. I think both cities are quite cool with a special atmosphere.

It was a beautiful and humble feeling to walk amongst such gigantic trees, almost like in a natural cathedral.
We visited San Fransisco where we got some practice in handbrake starts. Those roads are crazy, but the victorian houses are really cool.

From there we made our way east to Yosemite National Park where we had our first encounters with bears. All night people were scaring off a bear in our campground and the next day Lea spotted one on a walk.

Crossing over to the Upper Sierras we saw 4000 year old Ancient Bristelcone trees that belong to the oldest in the world. This is also where the desert started and temperatures rose to the hundreds.

Keeping in mind that we did not have air con in our car, the hunt for shade and water began and we stoped only when we found a tree or a shady parking lot.

We are doing fine here in the very hot (100f/40C) Bullhead City where Lea's uncle and his family live. We made a two day trip to the Gand Canyon and Lea won 3500$ at a Slot tournament what is quite crazy. We are taking a bit of a break here before leaving to the Cook Islands in a few days.
